Abstract
Two new xanthones, 1-hydroxy-3,5,7,8-tetramethoxyxanthone [1] and 1,7- dihydroxy-3,5,8-trimethoxyxanthone [2], have been isolated from Swerti a cordata and their structures were determined by using 2D-nmr techniq ues such as HMQC, HMBC, and HOHAHA experiments.
