Abstract
An excellent reagent for the chemo- and stereo-selective trans-dichlor ination of alkenes in high yield has been formulated by mixing tetrade cyltrimethylammonium permanganate, a relatively stable crystalline sol id, with trimethylchlorosilane in methylene dichloride.
