Tn. Massey et al., A MEASUREMENT OF THE AL-27 (D,N) SPECTRUM FOR USE IN NEUTRON DETECTORCALIBRATION, Nuclear science and engineering, 129(2), 1998, pp. 175-179
Calibration of neutron detectors for use in measurements spanning a wi
de range of neutron energies is normally a challenging task. Use of mo
noenergetic neutron beams is tedious and not convenient for certain en
ergies. Measurements of a continuous spectrum of neutrons from the Al-
27(d,n) reaction at E-d = 7.44 MeV have been made with a fission chamb
er. This should allow rapid calibration of neutron detectors in the en
ergy range 0.2 less than or equal to E-n less than or equal to 4.5 MeV
