Recently reported resonant dependence of neon glow discharge current o
n weak magnetic induction of the order of several tenths of mT (Magnet
o-Galvanic Effect) is analysed by a model involving the influence of c
oherence transfer on the ionization cross-section. The computation of
the magneto-galvanic signal as function of both magnetic field and neo
n 2p(5)3s (1s(i)) states number densities shows consistency of the mod
el with the experimental data and offers a possibility for additional
cross-check of the model.
