St. Ivanov et al., MAGNETOPLASMONS ALONG THE INTERFACE OF GYROTROPIC PLASMA SURFACE-TRANSVERSE PROPAGATION, Physica scripta. T, 57(6), 1998, pp. 637-644
An analysis of propagation of surface waves along the interface of tra
nsverse magnetized gyrotropic plasma has been considered. It has shown
that the waves have Rayleigh character and three different configurat
ions of propagation regions are possible depending on magnetization. A
t a given magnetization the solution of the dispersion equation depend
s only on the interface, that is of the ratio between dielectric and b
ackground plasma permittivity. It has been proved that the surface wav
es propagate in strongly magnetized gaseous plasma. A dispersion of th
e lower branch for strongly magnetized plasma exists. It has also been
shown the existence of singular surface waves on the complex zone bou
ndary. It has been proved that the waves do not propagate along plasma
metal screen interfaces. The distribution of the energy in the plasma
and the bounding medium has been demonstrated.
