Eleven species of resupinate basidiomycetes : Litschauerella abietis;
Subulicystidium brachysporum, cochleum, longisporum, meridense, navicu
latum, perlongisporum; Tubulicium dussii, vermicularis, vermiferum, rh
aphidosporum (Boid. & Gilles) Oberw., Kisimova & Gomez, comb.nov., ram
onense Oberw., Kisimova & Gomez nov. sp. (Corticiaceae s.l.) are repor
ted from Costa Rica. All the species are briefly described and illustr
ated. The term ''podoradix'' is coined to describe the rootlike proces
ses that anchor the cystidia to the substrate.It is expected that futu
re, intensive fieldwork on these fungi will reveal the existence of ma
ny more species in Costs Rica, particularly in elevations above 1 500
m.
