Abstract
Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery in adults is difficult to identify reliably by transthoracic echocard iography (TTE). We describe a 32-year-old woman with this coronary ano maly mimicking a coronary artery fistula on conventional TTE study. Th is anomaly was suggested by multiplane transesophageal echocardiograph y (TEE) and subsequently confirmed by coronary angiography. Multiplane TEE thus may serve as a first-line diagnostic tool for detecting anom alous origin of coronary arteries.
