Abstract
The beta delayed deuteron emission from He-6 is studied in a dynamical microscopic cluster model. This model gives a reasonably good descrip tion for all the subsystems of He-6 and Li-6 in a coherent way, withou t any free parameter. The beta decay transition probability to the Li- 6 ground state is underestimated by a few percent. The theoretical bet a delayed deuteron spectrum is close to experiment but it is also unde restimated, by about a factor of 1.7. We argue that, in spite of their different magnitudes, both underestimations might have a common origi n. The model confirms that the neutron halo part of the He-6 wave func tion plays a crucial role in quenching the beta decay toward the alpha + d channel.
