M. Kamburova et A. Aleksandrov, EXTRACTION-PHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF MOLYBDENUM WITH THIAZOLYL BLUE, Journal of analytical chemistry, 53(6), 1998, pp. 517-519
A procedure was developed for the extraction-photometric determination
of molybdenum as its ternary complex with SNC- ions and Thiazolyn Blu
e. The complex forms in a 0.9 M H2SO4 solution and is extracted with d
ichloroethane. It is characterized by a light absorption maximum at 47
0 nm with a molar absorptivity of 5.7 x 10(4). Ascorbic acid is the be
st agent for reducing Mo(VI) to Mo(V). The procedure is used for deter
mining molybdenum in lettuce.
