The study of the O-16+C-12-->C-12+C-12+alpha reaction performed at E(O
-16)=113 MeV shows evidence for the excitation of resonant states of M
g-24, eventually decaying in the C-12+C-12 channel, with a width of ab
out 500 keV. From the angular correlation of the two emitted C-12 ions
a value J = 14 is obtained for the spin of two resonances at 35.1 and
36.3 MeV excitation energy. This allows for an interpretation in term
s of quasimolecular states of Mg-24. The data are compared with previo
us results obtained at 85 MeV incident energy, and the role of the ang
ular momentum transfer in the reaction process is discussed.
