Abstract
Condensation of glucosides of;podophyllotoxin 4 and 4'-demethylpodophy llotoxin 5 with diethyl acetal in dry nitromethane and thiophene-2-car boxaldehyde yield the corresponding acetals namely, isoetoposide methy l ether 6, isoetoposide 7 and isoteniposide 8.
