Ih. Lira et W. Woger, EVALUATION OF THE UNCERTAINTY ASSOCIATED WITH A MEASUREMENT RESULT NOT CORRECTED FOR SYSTEMATIC EFFECTS, Measurement science & technology, 9(6), 1998, pp. 1010-1011
In some situations measurement results are stated without correcting f
or known systematic effects. It is shown here that this can be done as
long as the uncertainty associated with the uncorrected result is pro
perly evaluated. Since this procedure produces an enlarged uncertainty
, it is strongly advised that corrected results always be stated.
