Abstract
An investigation of the recently developed numerical technique based o n both the finite-element time-domain (FETD) method and the finite-dif ference time-domain (FDTD) method is presented This hybrid technique, exploiting the advantages of both methods, seems very promising. Valid ation through comparison with the 2-D canonical problem, as well as an example of a configuration which cannot be easily treated with either of the two methods, are reported.
