Abstract
All-solid-state four-mirror KLM Cr:LiSGAF and three-mirror Cr:YAG femt osecond lasers have been experimentally developed and theoretically an alyzed, using a numerical model that takes into account astigmatism, n onlinear chi y coupling, and gain-guiding. For the soft-aperture three -mirror KLM system, the model is extended to include gain saturation a nd soft-aperturing and a new optimization parameter is proposed.
