We present preliminary analysis of the first far-ultraviolet observati
on of the magnetic cataclysmic variable PQ Geminorum (RE 0751+14). The
mean spectrum of PQ Gem obtained by the ORFEUS telescope shows strong
, broad emission lines of C III, Ile II, and O VI and possibly other w
eak lines within a structured continuum. The flat, overall continuum f
lux distribution observed indicates the presence of a hot, extended ac
cretion region in PQ Gem. Time-series analysis of the spectra reveals
that the emission lines are highly variable on short timescales.
