S. Natarajan et al., NOVEL OPEN-FRAMEWORK TIN(II) PHOSPHATE MATERIALS CONTAINING SN-O-SN LINKAGES AND 3-COORDINATED OXYGENS, Chemistry of materials, 10(6), 1998, pp. 1627-1631
Two new open-framework tin(II) phosphate materials have been synthesiz
ed hydrothermally and their structures elucidated by single-crystal X-
ray diffraction. These materials exhibit an entirely new building moti
f, unknown in phosphate-based materials, viz., vertex-sharing truncate
d square-pyramidal SnO4 units, in addition to the trigonal-pyramidal S
nO3 units. The connectivity between the SnO3, SnO4, and PO4 units is s
uch that Sn-O-Sn linkages are observed for the first time. The network
ing creates three-coordinated oxygens in the structure. Crystal data f
