Jp. Vandewalle et al., VALUE OF ENDOMYOCARDIAL BIOPSY AND IMMUNO HISTOLOGICAL STUDIES IN ESTABLISHING THE PROGNOSIS OF CARDIAC AMYLOIDOSIS, Archives des maladies du coeur et des vaisseaux, 87(2), 1994, pp. 235-239
The authors report four cases of cardiac amyloidosis, the diagnosis of
which was confirmed by endomyocardial biopsy. They underline the valu
e of immuno-histological studies with labelling of the biopsy fragment
s with anti-transthyretin and anti-light chain immunoglobulin antibodi
es. This approach provides a more precise typing of amyloidosis and a
more accurate evaluation of die prognosis.
