Abstract
Leishmaniasis is described in a seven year old Great Dane. Diagnosis i s made by anamnesis, clinical symptoms as well as by identification of the Leishmania-organisms in fine needle aspirations of lymph-nodes an d skin and a positive IFAT. Problems with various and unspecific sympt oms in canine leishmaniasis are pointed out and present therapy and pr evention are discussed.
