C. Bozet et O. Perier, HEARING IMPAIRMENT IN LOW-BIRTH-WEIGHT IN FANTS - WARNING SIGNS, DIAGNOSIS AND HABILITATION PROGRAM, Archives de pediatrie, 5(6), 1998, pp. 690-693
The incidence of deafness is high in children born prematurely as comp
ared with the general population of children. Early start of the rehab
ilitation being an important prognosis factor the detection of deafnes
s must be made as early as possible. Therefore a careful attention mus
t be paid to any early signs of possible hearing imparment; parents co
ncerns in particular must always be considered seriously. Diagnosis of
deafness rests on behavioural tests and electrophysiological technics
.
