Abstract
An approach for approximation and interpolation of real valued functio ns is presented, which is based on generalized blending methods, The a im is to find a simple procedure for deriving a global description g o f a concerned function f. We suppose that a set of local descriptions g(v), 1 less than or equal to v less than or equal to n, of f is given . The global description g is intended to approximate f at least as we ll as the local descriptions g(v), do, and g is of a prescribed degree of smoothness. The obtained method is applicable for processing amy k ind of local descriptions; algebraic expressions can be used as well a s non-algebraic descriptions, like neuronal networks or fuzzy controll ers.
