Abstract
The surface-plasmon dispersion relation for a statistically rough surf ace can display a splitting under specific conditions. Calculations of the dispersion-relation splitting are performed in terms of a correla tion model or self-affine fractal rough surfaces with analytic form of the associated roughness spectrum, G(K) is-proportional-to (1+aK2xi2) -1-H. The dependence of the splitting on the roughness exponent H is i nvestigated.
