Abstract
IMF-IMF azimuthal correlation functions have been measured in Ar-36 Ti-48 collisions at 45 A MeV. The experimental data as well as the eve nts generated with IQMD were sorted with respect to impact parameter a nd the analysis was restricted to the mid-rapidity region. We find str ong anisotropies and asymmetries in the measured correlation functions , which cannot be described by independently emitted particles. The me asured correlation functions are, however, well reproduced by IQMD mod el calculations, although decay of a small mid-rapidity source cannot be excluded experimentally.
