Abstract
The 1:2 mixed tetramethylammonium (NMe4+) (1) and tetramethylphosphoni um (PMe4+) salts (2) of 2,5-dimethyltetracyano-quinodimethane (DMTCNQ) and its radical anion (DMTCNQ(-.)) were prepared, which exhibited bot h ferromagnetic behavior and high electrical conductivity at room temp erature. The crystal structure of 2 showed a composition of two differ ent DMTCNQ/DMTCNQ(-.) (1:1) and DMTCNQ(-.) columns, which have signifi cant contact with each other. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
