R. Fujii et al., THE 2A(G)(-) ENERGIES OF ALL-TRANS-NEUROSPORENE AND SPHEROIDENE AS DETERMINED BY FLUORESCENCE SPECTROSCOPY, Chemical physics letters, 288(5-6), 1998, pp. 847-853
The fluorescence spectra of neurosporene and spheroidene were recorded
in order to determine their 2A(g)(-) levels: each fluorescence spectr
um was deconvoluted into two series of 1B(u)(+) -->1A(g)(-) and 2A(g)(
-) --> 1A(g)(-) vibronic transitions, and the energy of the 2A(g)(- )(
upsilon = 0) state was determined to be 15300 cm(-1) in neurosporene a
nd 14200 cm(-1) in spheroidene. No temperature dependence of these ene
rgies was seen. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
