A boundary layer analysis is presented to study the steady-state free
convection. Slow arising from a line thermal source located at the lea
ding edge of a vertical adiabatic surface embedded in a micropolar flu
id, Nonsimilar solutions based on the finite difference method are pre
sented for the velocity, angular velocity, and temperature fields. One
case is identified where similarity solutions are possible. The resul
ts are presented Sor Prandtl number Pr = 1 and 10, and the micropolar
parameters Delta ranging from 0.5 to 5 and n = 0; 0.5, 1.
