STUDIES ON NEPALESE CRUDE DRUGS - XXIV - DITERPENOID CONSTITUENTS OF THE LEAVES OF SCUTELLARIA-REPENS BUCH.-HAM. EX D. DON

From the leaves of Scutellaria repens, sixteen new neoclerodane-type d iterpenes named scuterepenins A(1), A(2,) B, C-1, C-2, D-1, D-2, E, F- 1, F-2, G(1) and G(2), and scuterepenosides A(1), A(2), A(3) and A(4), have been isolated along with a new 9,11-secoabietane-type diterpene named scuterepenin H. The structures of these compounds have been dete rmined by spectroscopic and chemical methods as follows: scuterepenin A(1), (4R,11S,13R)-7 beta-trans-cinnamoyloxy-4,6 tetrahydroxy-11,16:15 ,16-diepoxy-1-neoclerodanone; scuterepenin A(2), cis-cinnamoyl form of A(1); scuterepenin B, (4R,11S,13R)-7 beta-trans-cinnamoyloxy-2 alpha, 4,6 entahydroxy-11,16:15,16-triepoxy-1-neoclerodanone; scuterepenin C- 1, (4R,11S,13R)-6 alpha-trans-cinnamoyloxy-7 ydroxy-4,18:11,16:15,16-t riepoxy-1-neoclerodanone; scuterepenin C-1, cis-cinnamoyl form of C-1; scuterepenin D-1, (4R,11S,13R*)-6 alpha-trans-cinnamoyloxy-1 beta,7 ta-diacetoxy-11,16:25,26-diepoxy-18-neoclerodanal; scuterepenin D-2, c is-cinnamoyl form of D-1; scuterepenin E, (4R,11S,13R*)-1 beta-acetox y-7 beta-trans-cinnamoyloxy-6 lpha-hydroxy-11,16:15,16-diepoxy-18-neoc lerodanal; scuterepenin F-1, (4R,11S,13R*)-1 beta-O-acetyl-7 beta-O-t rans-cinnamoyl-18 beta-O-methyl-6 ,18:11,16:15,16-triepoxyneoclerodane -1,7,18-triol; scuterepenin F-2, cis-cinnamoyl form of F-1; scuterepen in G(1), (4R,7R,11S,13R)-6 1,16:4,18:11,16-triepoxyneoclerodane-6,7,15 -triol; scuterepenin G(2), cis-cinnamoyl form of G(1); scuterepenoside A(1), (4R,13S,16S*)-1 beta-trans-cinnamoyloxy-6 nosyloxy)-16-methoxy -15,16-epoxy-18-neoclerodanal; scuterepenoside A(2), cis-cinnamoyl for m of A(1); scuterepenoside A(3), (13S,16R*)-form of A(1); scuterepeno side A(4), (13S,16R*)-form of A(2); scuterepenin H, -13-hydroxy-7-oxo -9,11-seco-8-abieten-14,11-olide.
