Abstract
(15 alpha,20R)-Dihydroxypregn-4-en-3-one 6'-O-acetyl-20-beta-cellobios ide (1) and matairesinol beta-D-apiofuranosyl(l-->2)-beta-D-glucopyran oside (2) were isolated from safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) oil c ake. The structures were confirmed by spectroscopic methods and X-ray crystal structure analysis, The H-1- and C-13-NMR signals of (15 alpha ,20R)-dihydroxypregn-4-en-3-one (1a) were assigned.
