We show that two non-orthogonal states secretly chosen from a certain
set $ = {\Psi(0)], \Psi(1)]} can be faithfully cloned in a probabilist
ic fashion through a unitary evolution together with a measurement. Th
e probability of success (called the cloning efficiency) can not attai
n 100%. We derive a basic inequality on the cloning efficiencies. (C)
