This paper presents an alternative design method for a linear time inv
ariant n x n multiple-input-multiple-output feedback system with plant
uncertainty and output feedback. Due to uncertainty, the plant P belo

e n2 system transfer functions be members of specified sets of accepta
ble outputs. The plant uncertainties are transformed into equivalent e
xternal disturbance sets, and the design problem becomes one of extern
al disturbance attenuation. The method has been proven rigorous by mea
ns of Schauder's fixed point theorem. This paper concentrates on the p
ractical design procedures and compares the results with those obtaine
d by other techniques.
