This paper reports the results of a cluster analysis on demographic, m
altreatment, and psychometric data gathered from 127 children with sex
ual behaviour problems upon intake into a longitudinal treatment outco
me study. Five distinct subtypes of children with sexual behaviour pro
blems were identified: Nondisordered; Abuse Reactive; Highly Traumatiz
ed; Rule Breakers; and Sexually Aggressive children. Characteristics o
f the child subtypes may permit identification of children at high-ris
k of juvenile delinquency or adult criminality.
