Abstract
Photoinduced reactions of some selected azodye metabolites as model su bstances were studied in aquatic systems with wavelengths above 230 nm . The results show that most of the investigated metabolites can be de graded to different conversion products. Rate constants, quantum yield s, and half-life times are given. It was also found that UV-irradiatio n is a successful and rapid method to eliminate these compounds in ind ustrial waste waters.
