Abstract
A simple scheme for a universal two-bit quantum logic gate is proposed . The scheme uses well defined atomic center-of-mass momentum states i nteracting with a resonant cavity field in Bragg regime. The cavity fi eld state controls the atomic momentum slate while passing through the cavity. The cavity field state acting as controller logic bit and the atomic momentum state as controlled logic bit together perform as a u niversal quantum logic gate.
