Abstract
The spatial ambiguity among pixels has inherent vagueness rather than randomness, therefore, the conventional methods might not work well. W e propose fuzzy homogeneity vectors to handle the grayness and spatial uncertainties among pixels, and to perform multilevel thresholding. T he experimental results prove that the proposed approach works better than the histogram-based algorithms.
