True acrosome reaction in buffalo spermatozoa using TALP medium, was s
tudied. This reaction was estimated using dual-staining procedure. Spe
rm per cent motility, true and false acrosome reactions were evaluated
each hour during 8 hi of incubation. The per cent motility decreased
progressively with increasing time of incubation. The initiation of tr
ue acrosome reaction was at 3 hr of the incubation and progressively i
ncreased with increasing time of incubation with maximum (60%) at 8 hr
. The 3 stages of acrosome reaction such as acrosome swelling. vesicul
ation and shedding were observed, The biological significance of the t
rue and false acrosome reaction has been discussed.
