Abstract
Transient absorption methods have been used to measure the reaction ki netics of Os(pp(3)) with hydrocarbons, following photodissociation of H-2 from Os(pp(3))H-2; the kinetic selectivity per reactive C-H bond f or pentane over cyclohexane exceeds 80 and that for methane over cyclo hexane exceeds 520, higher than any observed previously.
