Abstract
The liquid lithium/(LiCl-KCl eutectic melt) interface was studied usin g electroanalytical techniques (chronopotentiometry, cyclic voltammetr y and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy). The formation of a Li2C l layer has been shown and the role of residual oxide ions has been in vestigated. Results allow us to clarify the mechanism that leads to th e formation of a Li2Cl layer at the interface as well as its evolution with time. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
