The electrochemical oxidation of dipyrrolyl monomers with more or less
flexible and bulky spacers has been studied. We show that both pyrrol
yl units ate involved in film formation. The use of such monomers may
thus lead to bidimensional conductive materials with control of the in
terchain organization. Moreover, solubilization of such monomers, achi
eved by the use of inclusion complexes with cyclodextrin, makes it pos
sible to grow these materials from aqueous media.
