R. Jolly et al., COMPARATIVE AGING OF 3 ELECTROCONDUCTIVE POLYMERS, Journal de chimie physique et de physico-chimie biologique, 95(6), 1998, pp. 1400-1405
We compared ageing resistance of polypyrrole (PPY), polyaniline (PANI)
and polyethylene dioxithiophene (PEDT) samples, protected or not by a
n oxygene barrier vinylydene polychloride layer (PVDC), by recording t
he variations of their respective electrical conductivity. A first 550
hours at 100 degrees C ageing test allows us to choose the most effic
ient formulation of PVDC. Selected samples have been aged at 70 degree
s C. After 1300 hours of ageing, protected PEDT's sample electrical co
nductivity was 98 % of its initial value, whereas PPY's was 75% and PA
NI's 50%. The same differences have been found for the non protected m
aterials.
