Ageing of PANI-CSA films has been studied through conductivity decay k
inetics obtained within 358 and 446K. For short ageing time, the condu
ctivity loss is partly reversible. For longer one, first order kinetic
s is observed. This process is arrhenian-like, with an activation ener
gy linked to the PANI quality. Extrapolation at RT predicts stability
over centuries. Studies conducted on different atmospheres and FTIR ch
aracterization correlate the conductivity decay with various chemical
degradations (oxidation, chemical crosslinking, dedoping and ring sulf
onation mechanisms).
