Al. Mamaev et al., LUMINESCENCE QUENCHING IN GEMINATE PAIRS 1,2,3,4-TETRAMETHYLNAPHTHALENE-OXYGEN, Chemical physics letters, 289(3-4), 1998, pp. 247-252
Simultaneous quenching of both triplet and singlet states of 1,2,3,4-t
etramethylnaphthalene by oxygen during separation of the geminate pair
(1,2,3,4-tetramethylnaphthalene)/O-2, produced by 1,2,3,4-tetramethyl
naphthalene endoperoxide photolysis at low temperatures observed. Fluo
rescence and phosphorescence relative intensity immediately after phot
olysis and during pair separation make it possible to obtain informati
on about pair distribution function and its time dependence. Fluoresce
nce and phosphorescence kinetic curves can be adequately described in
terms of diffusion model. Oxygen diffusion coefficients were measured
at various temperatures near 77 K. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Scie
