The synthesis, characterization and Tc-99m labelling of unsaturated di
amino dithiol ligands with methyl dithiocarboxylate functions: 2-amino
cyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylic methyl ester (H(2)L1), N,N'-ethylene b
is (methyl 2-aminocyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylate) (H(2)L2) and N,N'-
propylene bis (methyl 2-aminocyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylate) (H(2)L3
) are described. Cationic oxo (Tc=0) and neutral nitrido (Tc=N) comple
xes were obtained. Biodistribution studies in rat showed a good heart
uptake of (TcN)-Tc-99m-L2 (2% ID at 5 min) with a high heart-to-blood
ratio (5.8 at 5 min), but this complex also exhibited high lung and li
ver uptake.
