Abstract
It is shown that circularly polarized electron-cyclotron waves can par ametrically excite density and magnetic field fluctuations in cold col lisionless magnetoplasmas. The relevance of the results to the heating of laboratory and ionospheric plasmas by intense electromagnetic wave s has been discussed.
