SYNTHESIS, STRUCTURE AND CO-C BOND HOMOLYSIS OF AN INTRAMOLECULARLY BRIDGED (TETRAHYDROFURFURYL)COBALT(SALEN) COMPLEX - A SIMPLE-MODEL OF ENZYME-BOUND COENZYME B-12
R. Blaauw et al., SYNTHESIS, STRUCTURE AND CO-C BOND HOMOLYSIS OF AN INTRAMOLECULARLY BRIDGED (TETRAHYDROFURFURYL)COBALT(SALEN) COMPLEX - A SIMPLE-MODEL OF ENZYME-BOUND COENZYME B-12, Chemical communications, (12), 1998, pp. 1295-1296
Air oxidation of a Co-II(salen) derivative, whose ethanediyl moiety ca
rries a methylene-linked 4-hydroxypent-1-en-3-yl substituent, yields a
n intramolecularly bridged (tetrahydrofurfuryl)Co-III(salen) complex o
f which the crystal structure has been determined; this B-12 model is
very resistant to Co-C bond homolysis, even in the presence of a large
excess of the radical trap TEMPO.
