Y. Ma et al., A PRACTICAL APPROACH FOR THE PREPARATION OF HIGH-ACTIVITY CU ZNO/ZRO2CATALYST FOR METHANOL SYNTHESIS FROM CO2 HYDROGENATION/, Applied catalysis. A, General, 171(1), 1998, pp. 45-55
According to the features of CuC2O4. H2O and the colloid/precipitation
theories, a practical approach for the preparation of Cu/ZnO-based ca
talyst, which had high activity for methanol synthesis, was proposed a
nd verified in experiments. Coprecipitation reaction in the ethanol so
lution aias found to be an effective route for the preparation of a hi
ghly active and selective catalyst. The characterization of XRD, N-2 p
hysisorption, TEM and the measurement of the copper surface area by ni
trous oxide titration revealed that preparation conditions have a sign
ificant influence on the structure and surface properties of the precu
rsors and the catalysts, as well as on the catalytic activities for me
thanol synthesis from CO2 hydrogenation. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V
