Abstract
Modeling and simulation of a matrix converter/induction motor drive ar e presented in this paper, which includes a three phase ac to ac matri x converter, an induction motor, a field oriented controller, filters and a power source. In addition, a developed precise loss calculation model for power converters is described with calculation results when it was applied to the matrix converter. A harmonic analysis is describ ed with a developed switching strategy, which reduces the harmonic cur rent at the matrix converter input. (C) 1998 IMACS/Elsevier Science B. V.
