This paper presents a general sampled data modeling of power systems s
upplied by static converter with digital and analog controller. The ca
se of a switched reluctance motor is presented. A description of the s
ystem in terms of differential and switching equations leads directly
to the sensitivities of the state vector. It is shown that the steady
state can be obtained using Newton's method and these sensitivities. T
he system is then linearized around its steady state to obtain a rigor
