Surface polaritons along the interface between semiconductor magnetopl
asma and a metallic screen have been investigated numerically. The pro
pagation of surface waves in such a system is possible due to their Ra
yleight character. It is shown that these electromagnetic waves are Ra
leigh surface or Rayleigh generalized surface ones. The well known dis
persion equation has been corrected and from the result of this it is
proved that the dispersion curve in strongly magnetized plasma is fini
te. In this case the wave is a ''virtual excitation'' surface plasmon.
The partial waves interpretation and the field topography investigati
on permit to receive a clear and distinct physical picture of the surf
ace polaritons.
