Abstract
Analysis of various losses has been carried out for a centrifugal slur ry pump while handling clear liquids. A methodology has been presented to predict the performance characteristics of such pumps. Prediction of head-capacity curve agrees reasonably well with the experimental re sults over the full range of operating conditions. It is concluded tha t the leakage loss plays a major role in the performance of a centrifu gal slurry pump.
