Abstract
The differential elastic backscattering cross section has been determi ned for backscattering of Li-6 ions from fluorine at energies between 2.5 and 7 MeV, The scattering angle was 150 degrees in the laboratory system. It was found that the ratio between the measured cross section and the Rutherford value is constant up to an energy of 4.5 MeV, Sign ificant deviations from the Rutherford value have been found for energ ies above 5 MeV, Experimental results of the cross section were correc ted for the screening effect, Deviations from the Rutherford cross sec tions are compared with predictions of the theoretical model developed by Bozoian, (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B,V.
