Abstract
The processes of 5 keV He+, Nf, Ne+ glancing ion scattering from Ni (1 0 0) surface covered by adsorbed molecules CO, NO with C (2 x 2) stru cture have been investigated by computer simulation. The rainbow effec t in limiting scattering angle which is observed at collision when the incident ion heavier than atoms of adsorbed molecules was used for de termining the type of configurations of diatomic molecules. The possib ilities of application of grazing ion scattering for determination of molecular adsorptions of diatomic molecules are discussed. (C) 1998 El sevier Science B.V.
